Twilight waited outside the spa for Rarity. This time however, it was Twilight who had called Rarity here. She had only told her she wanted to talk about something. She told her to meet her at the spa around noon, but Twilight was getting apprehensive and showed up early to wait for her.
Twilight was never good at romance, and probably never would be. Thankfully though, she had a friend like Rarity to help her. It seemed as though she had dug herself into a hole, or rather two colts had. She only hoped Rarity could sort this out, or at the very least console her...

Rarity left her Boutique nice and early, as she wasn't one to make a friend wait. She had been late once, and it was because of a conversation with a famous pony. Rarity set off for the spa with haste in her step. She herself had never actually been invited to a meeting at the spa, it was always her inviting somepony else. Rarity had no idea why Twilight had called her there that day, but she could only assume it was pertaining with Fenris. Rarity met Fenris a while ago, and since Twilight had asked her about colts, she figured she would try to set the two up. Since they were both single, and Rarity had a good feeling.
Rarity walked through the square and eventually reached the spa. Rarity smiled to see her unicorn friend already there. "Twilight, dear!" She called out to her friend as she was glad to see her. "I'm somewhat amazed that you called me here today, I do hope we can have an excellent time. Rarity smiled at her friend and walked past her, and into the spa. "Aloe, the usual." She told the pony at the counter that the two would be receiving what they usually gave Rarity. "Come along, Twilight, we can talk inside."

She nodded and walked beside Rarity. She was starting to like the spa. Not that she would come here alone, but for the most part it was enjoyable. Of course the spa wasn't the reason she was here. She knew one way or another she had to spit it out. "Rarity..." She said walking alongside her, "You know when we were here last time?" She said almost timidly.
They both sat down to get their mud masks applied. "We talked about colts." She continued, "Next thing I know theres a pegasus at my door saying you sent him. I could tell his motives. You wouldn't have been trying to set us up would you?" She began to question Rarity, but in reality she was somewhat grateful. Somewhat... She let out a small sigh after a few moments. "Anyway thats the least of my problems...." She began, but didn't finish.

Rarity began walking past Twilight, much faster than her, since the spa called for several twists and turns that would make any normal pony dizzy, and usually made Fluttershy dizzy every weekend. Rarity however knew it like the bottom of her hoof and followed Aloe along. Rarity smiled confidently, walking ahead of Twilight until she mentioned the sudden hook-up. While sending Fenris Twilight's way was mainly because she had work to do, and no time for a friendly chat, subconsciously, she did want to see Twilight hook-up with another colt. She felt that Twilight might get too jealous of Horizon and her. She figured Twilight would be happy about the hook up, but Twilight sounded like she didn't, so Rarity tried to play on the safe side.
"S-Set you two up?" She laughed nervously while she tried to reassure Twilight. "Why ever would I do that, dear? You know I respect your choices. If you want to be single, then I haven't a problem. Relax, wont you? It's our day to relax." A timer went off as Rarity looked back towards it. "Oooh! It's time, come along now, dear." Rarity stepped into a large bath of mud and wrapped a towel around her head, leaning it back on the edge of her section of the pool. "Now, go on, dear, about the rest of your problems."

Twilight tested the mud with a single hoof. She shivered from its touch when she slid in, but got used to it and began to relax. "Well," She began, "I kind of liked the idea at first. I was actually kind of happy, even. He asked me if he could meet me at Nightmare Night, and of course I said yes, I mean I wanted to give him a chance at least." Twilight tried to stop prattling.
"Anyway, we met along with a few other ponies. One of the other ponies helped me set up Nightmare Night. His name was Zathra." Twilight sighed. This is where the story gets 'fun' to tell. "I guess Zathra liked me too. Both of them were constantly right beside me. I... I guess I just didn't know what to think. Now I have to let one of them down, but I don't even know myself which one I like.... What do I do Rarity?" The speed of her talking slowly increased through the explanation as well as the worry in her tone of voice.

Rarity listened and followed along to Twilight's predicament. It seems Twilight was having that problem again. This situation was the same as the two tickets, six friends dilemma, except it was one or none. "Well, Twilight, what it seems to me your problem is, you aren't certain if you like either. So let's try something, shall we? Tell me what you like most about one, then what you like most about the other. We can at least try to set your mind straight on which one you'd prefer."
Rarity stretched and turned her head towards Twilight. "I do wish I would have known that you had already found somepony else, I would have told Fenris you weren't available. N-Not like I sent him over just to date you, of course. How would I even know that he liked you?" Rarity smiled and decided she had said enough. It was time to let Twilight speak. "Now, dear, go on."

Twilight rolled her eyes at Rarity. She was far from stupid, she was positive Rarity tried to set them up. "Its okay Rarity, its not a problem that you tried to help me, I mean, im thankful for it. All I wish is that there was better timing." Twilight couldn't be mad at Rarity for trying to make her happy, not even if she tried. She then took a moment to reflect on what she liked about the two colts.
"Well......" She was having trouble discerning the important personality factors from where her heart pulled her blindly. "Fenris is a charmer. He seems like a nice colt, honestly. Even though I haven't gotten the chance to talk to him much, he shows he likes me openly." She said. "Plus theres just something about him... I can't quite put my hoof on it...." She added ponderously.
"And then theres Zathra." Twilight wasn't less sure of her feelings towards him, mainly because she had only recently discovered he liked her. "He helped me prepare for Nightmare Night. I actually only found out he liked me the day of the celebration. He hasn't openly admitted it, but I can tell." She paused to think of why she liked him. "I know Zathra better than Fenris. We've talked alot, and he's really sweet. He always wants to help me or make sure im satisfied."
Twilight sighed in defeat. "I don't think I know either of them good enough to make a decision, but if I dont do something, they'll just keep subtly fighting over me." She thought about another way to go about it, but then just shook her head and said "... And if I flat-out deny them both, they might move on and find somepony else. What am I supposed to do? Is there some inbetween option im missing? I haven't been able to think straight lately....." She let out yet another sigh. Maybe all the sighing will help her problems go away. Twilight knew, however, that that was only her mind hoping for a moments reprieve...

Rarity sighed, this was a reoccurring thing in her books. "It certainly hard being this attractive, take it from somepony who knows, dear. You and I, we're always the talk of the town, and sometimes it's hard to decide between two ponies you like." Now, Rarity was nearly a master at this sort of thing, and knew exactly how things could go. Rarity knew the up's and down's and everything in between. She was prepared to share everything with her friend. "Well, Twilight, you know you can't have them both, but there's many different ways to approach this. Let me explain them to you, but first."
Rarity stood and got out of the bath, making her way to a table, laying on her stomach on the table. "In just a moment we'll get our massage, do hold tight. Now, as I was saying. There are many different things you could do. First, you could tell one you're not ready for a relationship, then secretly date the other. If things don't go well with the first one, then date the second." Soon after she finished Aloe, and the other worker stood beside the tables and pounded at the two unicorn's backs. As Rarity went on, her voice was bumpy and more relaxed.
"O-Or you c-could just d-date ne-either. T-There's really no need to de-cide right away. You could tell them both that you n-eed more time to t-think. Or maybe ask if you c-could see them both!" Aloe stepped away from Rarity so her muscles could relax, and Rarity kept speaking, in her normal, cheery voice. "Now, you could just explain the dilemma to them, I'm sure they'd understand. Back into the tub of mud, now." Rarity walked back into the pool of mud and got back into her relaxed state.

Twilight had listened to Rarity during the massage, but she dared not speak. What with her mind go crazy as of late, the massage did her wonders. She had allowed herself into a lulled state of relaxation at this point. She almost laughed when Rarity said they were "the talk of the town". More like Rarity alone was the talk of the town... Maybe she had self-esteem issues. Probably, she thought. Its hard not to after such a long while of nopony really liking her that way. Maybe she needed to cheer up. She had to be a pretty mare, otherwise there wouldn't be two colts after her.
When it came time to go back to the mud bath, Twilight felt so much more relaxed. She slid in, allowing herself to continue being relaxed. Once more she was thinking straight. She took a moment more to rest her body taking deep, peaceful breaths. "I think i'll do a mix of your last two suggestions, Rarity. Im going to tell them im not ready to decide, and then i'll go out with one for a night, and another next night. Im sure i'll have an easier time deciding afterwards." She said, her smile returning. Twilight felt confident. Ready for whatever may happen. ".... And Rarity?" She added, "Thank you. For being a good friend."

Rarity closed her eyes after entering and listened to Twilight's conclusion. It seemed her friend did eventually end up having everything under control. Before answering, she leaped up from the pool of mud and brought Twilight along into the sauna. This was the last place they had to go. Before the sauna, however, was the removal of the mud masks. Once that was over, she unwrapped the towel from her body, and got a new towel for her mane. She did the same for Twilight's, all while listening to her speak.
Once Twilight was done with her thoughts and thanked Rarity, Rarity knew it was all worth it. She slid closer to her friend in the sauna and brought her in for a friendly hug. "It's not a problem, dear. If ever you have another problem and need my expertise, do feel free to ask me." Now, refreshed and feeling like new, Rarity walked along, beside her friend as they left the spa. "I always feel better after a visit to this place. Unfortunately, I must be off now, dear. Do have a good time with the two colts, and I expect details next time I see you. I want to know what you're thinking about who, and when." Rarity winked at her friend and made her way back to her Boutique, content that Twilight now had the knowledge to tackle the situation at hand with ease.
