Rarity was hushed under the covers throughout the conversation between the other two ponies, and woke up the moment she felt Sweetie Belle jump up onto the bed. Rarity swiftly tossed off the blankets, and gracefully got out of bed like she would every morning. The blankets fell atop Sweetie Belle, who would have some trouble struggling out from under them. Rarity yawned and removed what she thought was her face mask, like she would every morning, and made her way to the bathroom, again like she would on any normal day.
Rarity smiled, her eyes still closed, as she yawned and levitated her brush which was beside the mirror in her bathroom. Rarity's hair, however looked like it would look every day, so there was no reason to brush it, but Rarity did so every morning, one hundred strokes. Rarity began to hum to herself as the first stroke seemed to be the hardest. She couldn't fit the brush correctly. Rarity tried to be a little more forceful until she heard a giant rip.
Rarity's eyes opened immediately after hearing this noise, only to notice her beautiful mane had turned light gray. "M-MY MANE!" She shouted at the top of her lungs, letting off a squeak. "I-It's gray! The only worse thing than green hair!" She scurried around in a panic.

Sweetie Belle was having an extremely difficult time maneuvering out of the covers Rarity had unceremoniously placed on top of her. Her hoofs weren't able to get a firm grip on the fine silken sheet of Rarity's bed because... well... hooves aren't the best things for moving objects. She didn't even know why it happened; Sweetie was next to her sister one moment and in the next was trapped under a prison of sheets and quilts. Of course they were all in fashion and tasteful. At the sudden shriek from a familiar voice, Sweetie jumped to her hooves and began to trot towards the noise.
"RARITY!"
Still having a fairly large comforter on top of the filly an blocking her vision, but that didn't stop the little sister from hastily helping the other one! She trotted as fast as she could with literally 'Blinding' speed towards the sound of her voice, bumping into the mare and knocking her over. Rarity was under the sheet with her sister and the only thing Sweetie Belle did was show a big smile... that slowly faded away.
"Why did you change your hair? "

Rarity had been as confused as Sweetie Belle was the moment the blanket landed on her. She levitated the brush to her face, showing strands of grey and torn hair from her mane. "M-My mane?! Whatever happened to my mane?!" Rarity continued in a state of panic until she saw what seemed to be a clump of her comforter sliding towards her. She had no time to react to the moving blanket and got tripped up by it. The blanket flew up and landed on the two unicorns. Rarity had a depressed look on her face as he sister asked her the question.
Rarity was as confused as Sweetie Belle on the hair dye issue, but only one thing came to mind. Perhaps when she was trying her color changing magic, she accidentally changed her hairs color too. Rarity was now convinced that it was the issue and looked determinedly at Sweetie Belle, then realized who she was dealing with. Rarity knew that demanding, yelling and giving tasks for Sweetie to clean would not end well. Dirty things would be clean, clean things would be dirty. Rarity smiled at Sweetie Belle and tried to explain her situation.
"Actually, dear. I didn't change my hair color. This monstrosity is all just a mishap. You see, I was trying a new magic spell." Rarity got up, and helped her sister up as she levitated the comforter and began to walk back to her bed while she spoke. She set the all the blankets and such properly on the bed. "That spell let me change the color of a fabric, for last minute changes of orders. If somepony wanted red at first, then they changed their mind, and decided purple was the way to go, that spell would have helped. I must have accidentally changed the fabric, along with my mane's color. I'll change it back in just a moment, dear."

Horizon landed not far from the Boutique, descending in a steep angle, intending to continue straight into gallop from air, but forgot all about the leg he had twisted earlier, and instead of changing the beat of wings to a rhythmic thunder of hooves, he stumbled. Horizon crashed and burned, falling over himself. He groaned and shook his head, trying to understand why he was lying on his back, legs pointing towards the sky and hurting all over.
He blinked a few times. He had lost consciousness for a while after his fall, and wasn't quite certain about where he was at first. Then he remembered Rarity, the potion, and Zecora and.. Horizon took a few deep breaths and frowned. He had been out for barely a minute, but there was no time to waste.
The stallion let out a sound that resembled a snarl, and hopped up, careful of his leg and still holding yet another flask in his mouth. He limped to the Boutique and entered it in haste, trotting across the hall and up the stairs. "Rarity!" He called for the mare. "Sweetie? Ye be 'round somewhere? Me be back with ya!"

Sweetie watched her sister with a look of concern, she didn't know exactly how she could help Rarity in this situation. Her magic wasn't nearly as good as Rarity's was. She only JUST learned about levitating things a few weeks ago let alone color hair. She sat precariously perched on Rarity's bed as she watched her sister desperately try to explain what might have happened and attempt to cover it up. She sighed, Rarity was just being Rarity again. Sweetie was almost surprised she didn't stop and ask the younger sister to clean things.
Then, her ears perked when she heard Horizon come back in from downstairs calling her name. She didn't really want to go down to meet him though, she was too worried about Rarity. She knew her sister loved her mane and now that it was a little... different she might need her help eventually. Maybe it would help if she told Rarity what happened.
"I came home from school, ate some food that was on the table and Mr. Flare came home with you on his back. He brought you up to your room and I don't know what happened before. Sounds serious though. He told me to stop you from getting to a mirror... What do you think happened, Sister?"
