Horizon skimmed the air currents, descending at a steady rate until his front hooves hit the ground, and continued forwards by galloping, his wings beating the air a few more times until he folded them to his back, never stopping. He carried a small leather bag in his mouth where the potion he had received from Zecora was, safely held so it would not break during his flight back to Ponyville from Everfree.
He came to the Boutique door, and, after wiping his hooves like Rarity demanded, entered the Carousel, as he preferred to call the place. The Pegasus had been living there for some time now, and life seemed to be up for the first time. He had a semi-steady job as a courier; he'd deliver packages for everypony who paid for his services, and of course, for Rarity free of charge. He just couldn't bring himself to accept any payment from the mare, despite her insisting the other way.
One thing pressed his mind, however. Rainbow Dash. His nemesis, the mare he hadn't yet even met, but whom he had decided to hate and despise with all of his heart. The blue weather pony was always spoken of like a some sort of super heroine, and why? Just because she had pulled off a Sonic Rainboom. Bah! She couldn't match the Flare in the skies, and what kind of a lame trick was the Rainboom anyway, compared to his own Even Horizon?
The Pegasus did a quick sweep around the Boutique, and Rarity didn't seem to be anywhere to be found, unless she was in her 'inspiration room.' Horizon knew better than to go and interrupt her when she was 'in the zone', as it were. He made his way to the kitchen and opened the satchel, placing the potion on the table and began to dig tools needed to make dinner for himself and Rarity – he actually liked making dinner. He took glasses and put them on the table as well, and a bottle of very mild apple juice – Rarity didn't have alcohols in the house, much to his chagrin, so that would have to do. He hummed to himself in a low tone as he started to create something edible out of raw materials.

Rarity actually wasn't even in the Boutique at the time, she was out talking to Rainbow Dash. It had been weeks and weeks until Rarity finally got Rainbow to agree to try on her dress. Rainbow had only agreed to try them on when she needed to, which was brought up at a press conference that the Wonderbolts were holding in town that day. After Rainbow got the dress on, and got lost into the crowd, Rarity made her way back to the Boutique. With a bounce in her step and a smile on her face she began to strut back to her home, knowing Sweetie was to be picked up in two hours, and Horizon would be home sooner that later, which was okay with her.
Rarity had now gotten used to Horizon living with her at the Boutique, and was even used to Sweetie Belle's constant visits. Rarity eventually arrived back at the Boutique as a scent filled her nostrils. This smell wasn't of smoke, but of something wonderful. Rarity walked into the kitchen and called out to see who resided in the kitchen. "Horizon? Is that you?" She noticed the stallion in the kitchen and walked over to see what he was making. "Is that dinner for us? You're so kind." Rarity planted a quick kiss on Horizon's cheek and made her way upstairs.

Horizon hard Rarity come in, and was there to greet her. "G'day, bonnie! Aye, it be fer ya an' yours truly. Sweetie's not home fer a hour or two, right?" He was used to Rarity's schedule of picking up her sister from school nowadays, and could almost tell from memory how long her days were every day of the week. He still didn't get along well with her, but at least it wasn't like his relationship with Opal, which would've been abominable. He had no idea why the Unicorn filly so avoided him.
"So whatcha been up to today, luv?" Horizon called upstairs while he returned to arranging plates and utensils and preparing the food. He hadn't made anything special; spaghetti arrabbiata with a side of salad. He wasn't an amazing cook, but on his travels he'd picked up a lot of different recipes, and living alone for so long had turned him into a jack of all trades of sorts.
"Ya have anythin' to do fer tonite?" He asked Rarity and grabbed the bottle of juice meanwhile, looking towards the stairs as he poured.. except it wasn't juice at all. He put the bottle into the fridge and made some last-minute fixes with the dinner, before deeming all was ready.

"Well." Rarity called back, she was ready to tell Horizon about her events of the day, but decided since he didn't think too fondly of Rainbow Dash that it was best to push the subject off to the side. "I don't believe I did anything too important. Went to see a friend, and we talked for a while. They tried on a dress and I let them run off, considering they were so satisfied with my work." Rarity smiled as she smelled the meal downstairs. "I'll be down in a minute, Horizon! Just one thing I must prepare."
Rarity smiled as she hugged Opal and let her run off into her cat bed, then made her way in front of her mirror. Rarity levitated a brush and began stroking it through her hair one hundred times, as she normally would after being out so long. "Coooomiiiiing!" She called out and made her way downstairs. She took a seat at the table and smiled at the meal Horizon had made for her. "Horizon, this looks delightful!" She smiled and levitated her glass, clinking it against Horizons. "Cheers!"

Horizon was oblivious to the fact she had mixed the juice and the potion from Zecora when she poured for Rarity, and swayed his tail mirthfully around, without a thought about what a catastrophe he was about to enter. He smiled when Rarity came down and took a seat after her, picking up his own class with some difficulty. It wasn't easy to be a Pegasus in an Unicorn house! He managed, however, and clinked glasses with Rarity. "Cheers, bonnie!"
The stallion muttered a few quiet curses that he was certain Rarity wouldn't hear, or if she did, understand, as he began to eat. Using tools made feeding such a chore, especially with hooves! Sometimes he wished he'd have a horn.. though then he'd have to give up his wings. Well, being an alicorn would be the life!
"So, darlin', anythin' ye've got fer tonight? Mayhap there'd be somethin' we could be doin', just the two o' us, hm?" He smiled warmly at the mare. She was the ray of light in his life. My beautiful, beautiful Rarity. Without her I'd still be a bloody train wreck somewhere in Manehattan.

Rarity thought to herself for a moment until she eventually remembered what she had been up to for the past few days. "Actually...there's one spell I was trying to learn. I borrowed a book from Twilight and everything, but I simply can not get it to work." Rarity sighed, lifting the fork to her mouth and taking a bite. Rarity's eyes shot open as the food entered her mouth. She slowly took bites as it passed down her throat her eyes began to sparkle. This food was nothing like she was used to.
"H-Horizon...! W-What is this? There's no...char! No...chalky, smokey taste!" She then realized she wasn't dining with Sweetie Belle, who managed to turn toast into a liquid, but a pony who actually cooked. "T-This is...outstanding! Mmm" Normally Rarity would speak with her mouth full, but the food was so delectable she had to keep eating. Once she was done, she exhaled and smiled. "Outstanding! You simply MUST cook more often." Rarity smiled and took a nice big swig of her drink, finishing the entire thing.
Once the meal was over, Rarity guided Horizon to her Inspiration room on the second floor of the Boutique. "Now, this spell I'm trying to learn has to do greatly with chemicals. So, what I'm trying to do is, using the chemicals in the color, I need to magically alter it so it become a new color. I don't know if ponies can even do that, but Twilight said she would be able to learn it, so I suppose I can at least try."

Horizon worked with the implements to the best of his ability, but Pegasi hooves just weren't made for eating with forks and knives! He managed, however, and didn't even look all that pathetic when he did. He grinned when Rarity complimented his cooking so greatly. "Nah, sugarcube. Ain't nothin' special.. just a few basic skills one be pickin' up when he be livin' by his lonesome fer a long time, y'know?" He waved a hoof dismissively. "Twilight be that.. 'nother unicorn? Lilac coat, an' livin' in a library? Some kinda relative to the Princess?" He inquired, although he perfectly knew who Sparkle was. He just couldn't go all 'Oh, yeah, Twilight, the mare I was going to swoon later in order to get a chance to break into the Royal Castle?'
After they had eaten, Horizon gathered up all the plates and other implements, putting them away to be washed later. Rarity wanted to show him something, and the Pegasus followed her to the Inner Sanctum; her Inspiration Room. It was a mess, and very.. well, Horizon thought it uncharacteristic for the white mare to work in such an environment. "Chemicals, eh?" He asked, frowning. "'Kay, so ye wanna be changin' fabrics from one hue to 'nother. Seems legit", he shrugged, having very little experience with magic. "Me be sure ye can be doin' it, easy, if ya put ye mind to it, luv. After all, ya fathom everythin' that has do with tailorin', aye?"

Rarity went over the book several times, hoping she could figure out some way to change the color of this fabric. The task required Rarity to hold up to parts of it at an even level, and drop it so suddenly that the first color would be wiped from the fabric, then quickly move the correct color underneath for it to soak in. Once the first strip of colors finally returned to the fabric, it would be overtaken by the second color, and thus the color would be different. A simple task, but most of her magic had to be concentrated on levitating, that a lot of the task had to be done with her hooves.
Rarity simply wasn't quick enough to perform all these tasks at once, until that day. From the magical potion Rarity had accidentally drank, it gave her an incredible burst of energy and speed, not to mention stamina. Rarity quickly performed the task and hugged Horizon all in the blink of an eye. Rarity's eyes began to twitch as she smiled. "A-Ahaha! I did it! See? SEE! I did it! It's a different color! I feel incredible! We should do other things!"
Rarity blinked five times in a row and made a mad dash for the front door of her Boutique. Rarity shot out of it and began running into town. Rarity was so fast thanks to the boost that perhaps she could even run faster than Horizon could fly. "I feel spectacular!" Rarity yelled, shoving her way through the pedestrians of Sugarcube Corner. Rarity didn't know where she was going, she just wanted to run.

Horizon followed Rarity, until she all of a sudden turned into a tempest that was everywhere at once; fabrics with her at one point, hugging him the second, and down the stairs in a third. The stallion blinked, wondering what had happened. "O-other things?" He repeated with a confused look on his face.. until a horrible realization dawned on him and his confusion turned into sheer fright. "Oh, bloody, blasted ponyfeathers."
He charged down after Rarity, jumping all the steps at once and then rushing into the kitchen, looking for the flask from Zecora.. which he found in the fridge, where the apple juice should be, almost empty. He facewinged, covering his muzzle in the feathers of his wings for a split second, before he remembered that there was all hell lose. He ran outside, saw Rarity galloping like the wind, and beat his wings, rising into flight and after her.
He flew at near ground level, just high enough to avoid hitting any ponies, and still struggled to keep up with the hyperactive white mare. "Rarity! Dear, slow down!" Bloody brews an' potions.. ah, now me's screwed fer real. Hay, hay, hay!
He struck his wings all he could to keep up with her, urging the mare to stop. He had to wait for a proper moment, for her to slow down in a turn or to avoid bumping into something, and then he could dart in and catch her, wrapping his wings around the Unicorn to keep her from hurting herself. He was afraid she'd over-exhaust herself, or worse.

Rarity looked up and smiled at Horizon. It seems this potion had given Rarity some *Pinkiekenetic Abilities. (* Pinkiekenetic: The energy that of Pinkie Pie) But the speed Rarity was running eventually fell as Horizon could easily fly faster than she could run at this point. Rarity began to simply walk and collapsed to the ground. It seems the potion had consequences as it put Rarity to sleep instantly. The second Rarity hit the ground, a small strand of hair popped out, fully grey and straight out.
It seems after used the potion, the user encounters their worst nightmare, since the potion had granted them what could be a dream come true. Rarity quietly slept on the ground as the potion had began to work its magic.

Horizon landed next to Rarity after she collapsed, and immediately gave of a scream of the worst kind; it was a voiceless, inaudible scream when the shock was too great to put into a single sound. Only silence could come even close to describing the desperate horror he felt now. The Pegasus glanced around, and using his hooves and his wings, he took Rarity into the soft feather cradle, like he had done when he appeared on her doorstep and she fainted.
He covered her in the black feathers; she surely would not want anypony to see her like this. He should've been more careful! This was all his fault; him being excited about the potion, and excited to make dinner for Rarity, and.. he made his way back to the Boutique as fast as he could, thinking of how he could undo the damage. Zecora! She would know what to do, but she'd never mix up another potion for him again. This was a dilemma, but Horizon knew there was only one right thing to do.
He arrived at the Boutique, slightly fatigued. Rarity had run much a longer distance than he thought! Walking was so tiring, especially when one had to carry something with him. He entered the Carousel, got up the flight of stairs, and into Raritys bedroom, where he put the Unicorn to sleep. Now, should he get out and try to get the cure before she woke up, and pretend everything was okay? His instincts told him to do that. On the other hoof, if he woke up alone like.. this, Horizon had no idea how bad it would be for her.

"MMmmmmm"
Sweetie Belle hummed to herself as she crunched on a long piece of smoked carrot that sat precariously on the table. Obviously left over from the meal beforehand. It had a very... unique taste to it, something Sweetie Belle wouldn't have expected Rarity to ever cook. It had a chaotic... almost grimed feeling to is, and the stain it left on the plate was a bite of evidence as well. She swallowed hard, wondering where her sister and... well that colt... could be. This was her first visit this week.
Suddenly, Horizon seemed to come through the door with a unconscious Rarity hoisted over his back. Both seemed exasperated, too tired to even notice she was sitting there. A normal pony would have wondered how long they were gone and what exactly had happened. Sweetie Belle wasn't an ordinary pony however. She hid behind the back of the chair in fear, peaking through the decorative heart shape in the back at the large gray colt. Unfortunately her eyes fixated on her sister, Main ruined and ruffled near beyond recognition. Her body worn, covered in black bruises and brown splotches on her coat. The filly's mind came to one conclusion.
"Horizon hurt me sister.." She mumbled under her breath.
Trotting with purpose she trotted upstairs; watching the devious swine place Rarity on the bed. he seemed nervous, almost unsure of what to do; a likely story for such a varmint. She trotted in the bathroom and looked int he mirror, putting on the meanest face she could possibly do and quickly trotted back to Rarity's room, watching the colt through the doorway until he noticed her.
"I'm watching you...." she threatened him.

The Pegasus paced around the bedroom, too focused on pondering what to do to notice Sweetie at first. He had a sour expression, and he let out a constant litany of curses, a vast collection of maledictions and swears he had picked up from all around Equestria. It didn't sound pretty.
He stopped on his tracks in front of Rarity's bed and looked at the white mare for a moment, quietly, before he burst out into another swarm of profanities and continued his pacing.. but this time he noticed Sweetie Belle at the doorway, telling that she was.. uh, 'watching him'? The Pegasus took a few quick steps to the filly and sighed out of relief.
"Oh, Belle, ye be a blessin', a bloo.. uh, a real boon to have in this kinda stae o' affairs!" He could've hugged her, but she'd probably darted away and hid under her bed or something if he came too close, and Horizon decided not to take the risk. "'Kay, so, lissen up, lass; me's gonna go fetch Zecora to work her mojo an' fix up a cure fer Rarity, so me be needin' ya to stay up here an' keep vigil o'er her, savvy? She be wakin' up, let her know me's out to find a solution, an' there be no need fer worry. Can ya do that fer her, Sweets?" The Pegasus spoke in a calm, friendly tone. He looked at Sweetie and tilted his head to the side, wondering if the filly understood him. He had gotten the impression that she was a bit.. slow.

The little filly kept her semi-stern gaze on the colt as she processed his request. It would be fairly lengthy time compared to most ponies. While she did spend more time then normal with the colt, she still didn't quite understand exactly how to understand him. Most of the time she just didn't pay much attention to him as he spoke, letting her mind wonder to other more important things like what she can do to get her cutie mark or even more important why Rarity always kicked her out when Horizon was th-- She shook her head and focused.
She enjoy the unpleasant stream of words that came out of his mouth. She knew what a few meant, she looked them up in a dictionary; never wanted to make that horrible mistake again. Why did Rarity insist on hanging out with THIS colt more then her? She blew warm air out of her noise angrily; She wouldn't lose her sister again...
Without fully understanding Horizon, she walked into Rarity's room and curled up next to her sister.

The Pegasus stared back at the filly, tilting his head to the side even more as she took her time before she reacted. He watched her go lie down next to Rarity, and let out a sigh of relief as he walked back into the room. He spoke now in a very, very slow and clear voice to make sure she'd understand. "Okay, Sweets. Just make sure that when Rarity wakes up, she gets nowhere near mirrors until I come back. Tell her that I'm off to Zecora's to fix it, alright?" As soon as he had spoken his mind, he turned around and galloped out of the room and jumped down the stairs in one leap.
Horizon rushed out of the Boutique and spread his wings, taking to air with a powerful leap, the beat of his wings raising dust off the ground as he headed towards Everfree Forest as quickly as his wings could carry him, intending to find the reclusive Zebra before things would get even more out of hoof than they already were.. he just wondered how he'd explain the situation to her.
