The full moon bathe it's light down on Sweet Apple Acres; a small fog wrapping around the trees, bending and weaving towards the barn. The paint on the barn chipped and worn, as if the structure was neglected for years. The front door creaked as it swung in the breeze, barely hanging on the rusty hinges. Random eyes could be seen peaking out of the windows, glowing in yellow and white. Windows lay open; some raised up wile others were broken open. Whatever pieces of curtains that meant to shield the inside from light hung tattered, flapping in the breeze.
The whole barn was in disrepair, as if it could fall apart at the seams. No pony would ever risk entering it, making it the perfect place for anypony, or anything, to hide during Nightmare Night.

Braeburn had arrived to Ponyville just in time to help with the festivities, and boy was he happy. Earlier in the day he spread the word that the barn was haunted and only the bravest of ponies could enter. Once he returned, he put his vest and hat away for the night. Tonight he wore a different hat that was tattered and torn. A skull half mask covered part of his face. In place of his vest were bandoliers filled with hidden candy for victims brave enough to confront him. Lastly, he had a sandy brown cape, torn and riddled with holes at the end. He was ready.
He had hid out until it was dark. Once his surroundings were cloaked in darkness, he could move amongst the shadows freely. He waited awhile in the trees shielding him from the moonlight for the ponies to come. He wasnt that far from the barn. Once a pony would go in, he would lock the doors behind them, and then the fun would ensue. Best to wait for atleast a couple of ponies though...

A low cloud pass overhead, blocking the moonlight. In that time something took that moment to run out of the barn and into the orchard. The thing started to circle around Braeburn, using the shadows to hide. It's eyes stayed on him, glowing white in the dark. As it took a step closer to him, it stepped on a twig, snapping it. Before he could turn around it quickly jumped into the nearby tree, still fixated on it's target. When Braeburn finally lost interest and went back to waiting for a "target", the thing leaped from the tree to the other he was hiding behind, it's cloak rustling the leaves slightly. It slowly lowered itself behind him, opening it's mouth.
"You suck at hiding."

Braeburn instantly flew foreword, his skin chafing against the bark of the tree he was hiding behind. Braeburn had a debilitating fear of the Everfree forest. He only just got to the point he could trust the orchards at night. So much for that... He looked behind him, his heart racing to find none other than the familiar blue unicorn. "H-hey! Ya almost gave me a heart attack!" He said managing a chuckle at the end.
He stood up and dusted himself off, still breathing heavily. His front left hoof was skinned pretty bad, but he paid it no mind. "You be careful about just who yer scarin, Tundra. If I was somepony else ah mighta turned around swingin'." He said with a smile. He was happy atleast Tundra got a scare in tonight, because the haunted house was going nowhere fast. Hopefully chatting it up with the unicorn would help time pass a might faster.

Tundra started bouncing in place, higher than any pony could. "Pffft, you should have seen Applejack. Got her good. OH JEE-!" She slipped on the last bounce, falling face first into a ditch. "Ow."
She quickly popped out of the ditch, her cloak still covering her face. "I thought they covered that hole." She then started to kick one of her legs. "Stupid springs. Took me hours just to bend these things correctly." It wrapped around her leg perfectly but still connected to the shoe. As she tried to kick the spring off the hood fell off her head. Her coat looked off, almost a sickly color of what it was before. Her mane was dirty, with twigs and hay stuck in her braids. Her eyes almost looked glazed over and appear to glow in the dark.
She sat down, trying to push the spring off with her other hoof. "Dangit GET OFF!" The spring shot off, colliding with a tree, ricocheting off it and a few others and hitting a random cat in the distance, it crying from the pain. "Sorry!" she yelled.

Braeburn smiled and shook his head at Tundra's antics. "Y'know Tundra, you never change. An how'd you get those springs to wo-" He was cut off to a spring flying at his face. He hit the ground barely missing it. That was the second time he his heart stopped, and it hadn't even been 5 minutes since Tundra had shown up. "Tundra, y'almost took an eye out! Careful!" He said.
He removed his hat and adjusted his mane before putting it back on then he dusted himself off. Agsin. I swear this pony'll be th'end a me, he thought. "So Tundra," He said trying to further the conversation. He had nothing else to do. "What are you sposed t'be? A bouncin' homeless pony?" He remarked in a lighthearted way. He knew Tundra enough to be a bit mean to her, and it wasn't like she'd been a saint to Braeburn either.
