Necrose raked the last of the leaves that had fallen into the cemetery from the trees in the nearby Everfree Forest. Trees there shed their leaves on their own, as opposed to falling with aid by ponies running through via the Running of the Leaves. It was a strange place, the Everfree Forest, but the cemetery's proximity to it served as a natural deterrent to mischievous ponies or vandals who would cause trouble overnight and leave more work for Necrose and his crew in the morning. Monsters that dwelled in the Forest sometimes came close to the fence, their eyes shining in whatever light, natural or created, was being used to see. Despite the fact that the fence itself was tall enough to keep all but the tallest or flying monsters out and enchanted to keep them all at bay, few ponies dared go to the cemetery after dark, those who did deemed by the town and the cemetery's keeper either brave, stupid, or crazy. Or perhaps all three.
The cemetery itself was quiet save for the wind whenever it blew and the rustling of the leaves in the trees, as well as the occasional funeral and the cemetery's workers talking to one another. The monsters of the Forest, perhaps for fear of whatever spell or spells had been cast on the fence that completely circled the cemetery, also did not make much sound when they passed near. Many were strong enough to tear down the barrier and some could fly over it, but they kept reasonable distance from it and kept quiet near it. That suited the ponies of Ponyville just fine when they visited the cemetery. Most preferred to have their visits not be interrupted by the sounds of the beasts of the forest.
And so it was that Necrose and his crew worked, the only sounds being the light breeze that rustled the leaves still clinging to the trees and their own rakes combing at the ground. Occasionally one would clear their throat or sneeze, but for the most part, nopony said a word while they worked. Not for any rules against talking while on the job in the cemetery, Ponyville's undertaker certainly didn't care, that was just the way they always worked.

Horizon circled around the graveyard high above, observing the terrain for a good place to land. The narrow path snaking across the graves would be a suitable spot, he deemed, and folded his wings mid-flight, dropping like a rock. He fell, and fell, and fell, eyes closed and simply enjoying the wind in his mane and the pressure against his coat and features. The package for Necrose was held tightly in his mouth to prevent it from escaping up with the wind.
Horizon opened his wings wide again and straightened his fall moment before striking the ground, taking multiple galloping steps over the path before stopping to peer around him for anypony who might be Necrose, the undertaker to whom the packet was signed to. He put the package on the ground, somewhere it wouldn't get wet or dirty, and glanced all around the cemetary. "A delivery for Necrose? Anypony recognize himself, huh?" He called out, looking at the small group of ponies raking the leaves.

A voice broke the silence. "A delivery for Necrose? Anypony recognize himself, huh?" All the ponies raking leaves, seven in total, stopped what they were doing and looked in their respective directions toward the center of the cemetery. There stood a pegasus with an all black or all dark gray coat, a package of some sort on the ground at his hooves. Ponyville's undertaker put down the rake he was using and trotted over to the pegasus.
"I'm Necrose," he said, flashing a brief smile, "A package for me, you say?" He wondered what it could be. He'd only placed one order of any kind recently, and it was far too soon for it to be done and in his hooves already.

Horizon turned around at the sound of hooves closing in, picking up the package and offering it to Necrose. "Ya, that be correct! Fer Necrose, from lady Rarity, savvy?" He grinned in a peculiar manner and looked around the cemetary. Real swell place. Feels like.. huh, a cemetery. What a surprise Flare didn't really like the mood of the place. Too quiet, depressed and dark for him.
"So, it be seemin' ya got a real party 'round here, huh?" He jested. Couldn't hurt those diggers if they at least spoke to each other now and then. This silence is pretty unnerving. "So, uh, anythin' me can be doin' fer ya, then, afore me's leavin' back to the Boutique?" He couldn't wait to get back into the air and off this cursed boneyard. "Name's Horizon. Horizon Flare."

Necrose took the package and placed it on his back. "Ya, that be correct! Fer Necrose, from lady Rarity, savvy?" This pegasus had a bewildering manner of speaking and the undertaker couldn't place his accent to save his life. But his speech wasn't completely incomprehensible, and the writing on the envelope of the small card that was with the package matched Rarity's style of writing to the T. The bigger of the two stallions was surprised to be seeing this so soon, not only because it was done so soon, but because it was done, period. Rarity said she might not be able to do it at all. "Well, this is a surprise," the scarred earth pony said, "I didn't think I'd be seeing this at all. Miss Rarity said herself she might not be able to do it. But she did, so that's why she's the best in Ponyville at what she does, right?" It was more or less smalltalk, but it was praise the fashionista deserved nonetheless for being able to go from uncertain if she'd be able to complete all the orders she had to done ahead of schedule.
"So it be seemin' ya got a real party 'round here, huh?" the pegasus asked him. Necrose took the pony's meaning and chuckled. It was true it wasn't particularly lively this far away from Ponyville. "Not today, no," the earth pony laughed, shaking his head, "That's just how it is around here, though. We work without talking unless it's necessary, then talk when it is necessary or when we're not working." Necrose was not the sort of pony who would forget his own plans, but the other pony mentioning a party reminded him of what he wanted the outfit for. "Oh, but that does remind me, we will be having a party here in the cemetery later in the night on Nightmare Night. It's adults only, but you're more than welcome to attend if you like. Whole town's invited, in fact, except for foals, of course. Don't want to scar them for life. I put up fliers around town, there's more information on them if you're interested." After that, the two stallions stood in relative silcence, listening to the sounds of the wind in the trees and the rakes of the other ponies.
"So, uh, anythin' me can be doin' fer ya, then, afore me's leavin' back to the Boutique?" the other pony said after a short while. "Name's Horizon. Horizon Flare." Necrose couldn't honestly think of anything right away he might need somepony he just met to do. Nothing he or one of his crew couldn't accomplish on their own, at least. "No, sorry, I can't think anything right off the top of my head," the earth pony said, his brow furrowed in deep thought, "but, uh, thank you for delivering this to me." He indicated tha package on his back. "As you know from delivering that, I am Necrose, and it's good to meet you, Horizon. Do... I owe you anything for delivering this to me?" He paid Rarity well for the outfit, but if delivery was this pony's job, then it was only right the undertaker pay him for his services.

Horizon grinned when he heard Necrose compliment Rarity, saying she was the best at what she did. "She sure is, pal. Ain't born no pony to be handlin' the needle an' the thread alike miss Rarity." The Pegasus' tail whipped the air in a gladsome way as he spoke. He was feeling happier than ever today, and the usually energetic Pegasus could barely stand still; he beat the ground with a hoof, stretched his wings, swayed his tail and continuously peered around.
"Y'know, cutter, me'd be most delighted to be attendin', but me's got 'nother things to be takn' care o', ya ken?" He shrugged. He had to watch after Sweetie and her friends that night, and it was his chance to show Rarity he was really worth her trust! He wondered, though, if Necrose and Rarity were going to the same party. If everypony was invited, it seemed a real possible chance. "Here at the 'yard, tho'? Be soundin' grim a place to be holdin' a gatherin'. Real fittin' fer Nightmare Night, aye."
Usually, Horizon wasn't the type to offer his aid like that, but again, his head was all cloudy due to Rarity's positive influence. He shrugged at Necrose and grinned in a wolfish manner. "Nah, me be promisin' Rarity to be flyin' this one free o' charge, Neccy. Don't sweat yerself", the pony waved a hoof and spread his wings to their full, formidable length. "So, me be seein' ya later, mayhap. Ciao!" Flare hit the air and rose skywards, heading back towards Ponyville.
