This time it was Fenris' turn to be one to weather the storm, so to speak. The assault Sunset launched was met with vastly different style of defense that what she had employed. While her defense had been akin to a mountain weathering whatever came it's way, Fenris' defense was like wind, in constant motion. He didn't take any blows directly he simply guided them into new paths, away from himself, but he also knew he wouldn't be able to keep the precision up forever, he would need to switch to a more traditional defence soon and when that happened Sunset would be able to batter down his defense.
That meant he would need to take action sooner rather than later. He made his move as he saw Sunset pull back for another full swing. He stepped inside her blow robbing most of it's strenght and absorbing the rest on his armor. He braced the wing on that side against her blade and braced himself starting to push directly against Sunset.

The mare's eyes were set on Fenris, keeping watch on his every move - each time he dodged and evaded, shifting past her blade, she changed her style slightly to match his movements. The Pegasus was indeed nimble and dexterous, but the Captain was more experienced, and knew how to read the battlefield, be it a massed one, or just two dueling combatants. After all - she was responsible for teaching new cadets all about warfare, and knew the subjects of conflict well.
The Pegasus did something similar to what she had a brief moment ago, her sword's edge barely hitting him as he came too close for the mare to utilize the weight of her weapon, and directed it away with his wing. But Joy wasn't born yesterday, and didn't remain motionless. She kicked at him with his hoof, keeping the colt from bolting to the side with the blade he had parried with his wing, and then crashed her head against his, headbutting the Pegasus despite the still-bleeding injury she had suffered.

Fenris saw the headbutt coming and took it. The impact caused few stars to come into his vision, but he ignored them for now and instead focused on pushing against Sunset. He had the advantage of being able to push with his whole strenght, but even so he was rather uncertain if he would be able to push hard enough.
Weighing his options he soon came to the conclusion that if he was unable to push her away he would have little change of escaping without her getting at least one solid hit in. Another moment passed without change in the situation and Fenris made up his mind.
"I yield." His voice a little strained and he started lessening the pressure pulling away from Sunset.
"I might have been able to get away, but the risk of injury would have been too high, I need to be able to work day after tomorrow." He started flexing his muscles going through basic stretching exercises.
"It was a pleasure to match blades with you milady." He felt bried pain lance through his side as he stretched it.
"Though I might be thinking differently tomorrow morning." He opened the straps holding his armor in place letting it fall off of him as he started observing the obvious bruises on his side then turned to Sunset remembering the bleeding wound she had gotten.
He walked toward her observing the wound, before turning around to look for first-aid kit.
"I think that wound needs to be patched up right away." He found the first-aid kit on the ground next to the dulled blades. He picked it up and walked next to Sunset opening the kit.
"Hold still for a moment Sunset, this shouldn't take long." He started treating the wound to the best of his ability.

Sunset shook her head after her skull collided with Fenris', rattling her. The Pegasus' momentum dazzled her, and for a moment she was blinded, seeing only stars due to the shock, but swiftly regained her posture. She shook her head and nodded at Fenris. "Well fought. You are fast and well-practiced, no doubt. I though you had gained the upper hoof for some time", she complimented him, and her words were honest. "I will certainly feel the phantoms of our sparring tomorrow as well."
Blood dripped down the mare's face, and from her lips, a taste of iron strong in her mouth. The blow Fenris had struck would certainly leave a mark for some time, and she suspected her cheekbone might have cracked - she should go visit a doctor later just to be sure. The pain wasn't that bad, however. In fact, Joy liked the feeling, for some reason. She frowned slightly at her thought. How peculiar.
Fenris picked up the first aid kit and began to apply disinfect and then close the wound. Sunset winced a few times at the sudden stings as she was being tended. "Thank you, Fenris. And sorry if I hurt you. Sometimes I get a little too serious. My apologies."

Fenris finished the first aid and stood back to see how it looked. The bleeding seemed to have mostly stopped by the bandage and he nodded at it.
"Well that should do it, though you might wanna have it checked out by someone who really knows what they are doing." He then observed his own injuries noticing that they were pretty much only bruises, though some of them were fairly large.
"Not the worst I've had in a training session, but I won't be flying that much tomorrow." He said pointing at the large bruise just above his left wing.
"Nothing to worry about, I know just how it can get with training sometimes, I've had it happen to myself a few times." . He turned to look at his armor that was laying on the ground.
"This is the part I really don't like... well it must be done though." He picked up the armor and started cleaning it while inspecting it for damage at the same time.
He realised that there actually was quite a few dented scales, more than he had spares for. He finished cleaning the armor and then put it back on as it was the easiest way to carry it. He turned to Sunset.
"Does your armor need mending? I need to take mine to have few of the scales reforged so Ithough I could take your's as well if need be."

"Thank you", the mare said after the wound was patched. She spit a red glob on the ground and shook her head, still a bit staggered from the two blows she had taken to the head. She remembered that while she was still a cadet, years ago, her combat instructor had told her that Joy's style was terrible, changing from an all-out defense into a suicidal assault and back without any coherency. She still retained that quality, and would often suffer more wounds than her opponent in a sparring match, even though in the end she'd pull through more often than not - very rarely did her opponents manage to get a killing blow through. There were many, many guards in Canterlot that were infinitely more able combatants, but Sunset was known for her endurance and iron resolve.
"You certainly rattled me with that wing-strike, Fenris.. Although you dedicate yourself too much to offense, I observed. With a little more careful attacks, you would certainly have won", she told him her own thoughts, beginning to strip her armor. It was a complex process, unfastening the straps and buttons that held the pieces of armor in place in the correct order. Eventually, however, she was out of the plate, the chain, and the studded leather underneath, and arranged all the pieces on a blanket in a neat order.
She had a short, smooth coat underneath all that steel that made her resemble a statue even more than she usually did in her dresses or coat of arms. "There are dents that need to be straightened, and a plate or two have been twisted. I accept your most generous offer", she nodded, putting aside the parts that were somehow damaged - most she could clean and fix herself.
"Oh, Fenris", she said suddenly, averting her gaze from her steel suit into the Pegasus. For a moment, she just stared at him, until she spoke; "I will be going back to Canterlot in two days. It was a pleasure to meet you."

Fenris nodded as Sunset told him about the flaws she had seen in his style and seeing as this was one of the purposes of this dual for him he took her advice and decided to see how he should change his style. When Sunset mentioned that she would be going back to Canterlot in two days Fenris fell in to thought.
"You know I've had in mind to visit Canterlot one of these days to see my parents and see if I could meet some of my old friends there as well. Do you think it would be possible for us to have another sparring session then? I would like to see how my old unit is doing as well..." He fell silent.
"Well, I guess that decision is up to you..." He spread his wings glad for the oppurtunity to strain them a bit, it would make tomorrow easier.
"I'll get the armors to a smithy and ask your decision when I return your's and Sunset it was a pleasure to meet you too." He saluted Sunset before beating his wings and flying to the sky, slightly wobbling at first, but managing to stay in the air at least.
