Cyril nodded to the mare, finally knowing her name. Rarity. A beautiful name for a beautiful mare, she thought. She wasnt going to let a single thing ruin her dress. She remembered her first Nightmare Night. Her actual first was in her hometown of manehatten, but it was alot different. Her family was poor, and second, most of manehatten only used Nightmare Night as an excuse to throw high society parties. Her parents did hide candy around the house, though.
Her first traditional Nightmare Night was in Hoofington, while she was in her teen years. It was fun going house to house getting candy. The next Nightmare Night was even more fun though. She managed to gather enough bits to give everypony who knocked on her door a full sized candy bar. Then there was the Nightmare Night in Cloudsdale. She did the same thing, except she flew to the ponies wearing a mask and cape passing the candy out. That one was here favorites.
In her lulled state of memories, she was slow to react to Rarity moving to the food table. She dashed to the table skidding to a halt just before she made it herself. She then got eye level with all the food. Cyril brushed the crumbs of the table cloth so that not a speck would land on Rarity's dress. She was a bit dissapointed when Rarity declined the food. The sweets were the second best part of Nightmare Night. She didn't protest however. Maybe Rarity would be hungry later.
Cyril's ears perked up at the mention of her name. She turned to face Rarity like a soldier at attention. She looked silly doing so, but cute at the same time. "Anything for you miss Rarity!" She said relaxing her posture and smiling. This Nightmare Night would be one of Cyril's favorites yet. Not because she had fun, but because she got to help a pony learn to like this holiday once more. Actually, she was having fun. Making others happy was why she woke up every morning...
