Shake smiled as he looked around the Town Square. He was glad to having closed the Parlor early that night. He noticed a few ponies here and there, but not really somepony he knew personally. Of course, there was the town librarian, and her... Two dates? Shake shrugged. Such a strange sight to see Twilight Sparkle with two colts.
THe earth pony smiled widely and started walking around, cheerfully, lifting his legs in almost musical joy. He seriously enjoyed dressing up, but this was the only time of year it wasn't seen as strange or stupid alone. He was wearing a pair of metal goggles. Such an accessory also sported a cog between both of them. His neck was wrapped with a pretty long scarf, with a striped design. The pony's legs, lastly, had a pair of anklets, with small cogs hanging from them with a piece of string.
Shake kept smiling as he wandered around, but suddenly, his hoof caught itself pressing the end of his scarf against the floor, making him trip and fall onto a group of ponies he had seen before. "Awah! Excuse me!" he said, rubbing his head while on the floor, hoping he had not knocked down or damaged anypony.

Twilight realised as soon as she gave the two colts an inch they expected a mile. She quickly wriggled out of their clutches with a nervous laugh. "Oh no no no, im fine! We should keep walking." She said almost panicked. She calmed her thoughts with a long sigh. If she had ever once thought this was going to be easy, she sure as heck didn't now. At this point she was pretty sure Zathra indeed did like her too, although she wasn't 100% sure.
Twilight sighed again and turned first to Diana. All at once her mind picked off her costume revealing a filly she knew. Not a very pleasant visit had it been. It was actually unnerving. She had a book that talked. Twilight wasnt sure what to say at all. She could hardly reprimand her for pulling a prank. Twilight was guilty of that too. "Ehehe... Good one, Diana." She managed.
Next she turned towards the blue earth pony. She offered a hoof to help him up. "Are you okay?" She said giggling a bit. He was glinting in the moonlight in an almost entrancing way, she noticed. "Nice costume, what are you supposed to be?" She asked wondering just what he was. It seemed to remind Twilight of a few things in her books, but none of them seemed correct.

Fenris was slightly disappointed when he felt Twilight wriggling out from under his wing, as she moved away he noticed that Zathra had been standing on the other side of her. He smiled at Zathra and made a slight nod, understanding that apparently he had same kind of feelings for Twilight as he did.
"Alright, Twilight, you lead the way." He folded his wing back against his side as he spoke.
He looked at the blue earth pony who had stumbled upon their group, noticing the clockwork thene he had going on, while not exactly scary or unnerving, he had to admit it looked rather nice and somehow seemed to suit the pony.
"It seems the beauty of our Mistress has drawn in another minion." He was using his otherwordly voice once more having walked closer to Twilight, though staying a respectable distance away in order to not unnerve her again.

Zathra quickly pulled his hoof away when Twilight started moving way. Zathra was happy that Fenris took notice that he was there with a smile, he was worried Fenris would be upset if he knew Zathra was also trying to get into a relationship with Twilight. Wait, was that what he wanted? Yes, yes that was what he wanted, but him and Fenris would have to talk about that later, he was positive that Fenris also wanted the same type of relationship with her.
Zathra saw the blue pony tumble over to them, hearing him ask if they were okay. "Ya, i'm fine, but are you? That looked like it hurt". Zathra didn't put his hoof out, noticing that Twilight had already done that and not wanting to make the situation awkward.

"Thank you, but you sure you don't need privacy? Erm, you whole lot are looking kind of strange, just to top the iceberg." - she said still bit embarrassed - oh, and be vary of the traps someone put everywhere. i nearly broke my head at one of these tripwires. Lovely costume by the way.

Sunset moved past Twilight and her suitors to help Shake up after he had tripped. "You must be more careful, sir", she said as she offered him her hoof. He had a curious costume, she thought - clockworks were an odd choice for a Nightmare Night. She glanced at Twilight, Fenris and Zathra, and allowed the merest hint of a smile to appear on her features. Those two colts were helplessly charmed by the purple Unicorn. She wondered if they themselves realized what a love triangle they had gotten themselves into.
The mare focused her attention back to Shake. "I am Sunset Joy, sir. A pleasure to meet you; though it seems that colts in this town have a habit of making.. crashing entrances", she gazed at Fenris briefly, whom he had met for the first time after he propelled into a café she was at.

Shake cleared his throat, and blushed in embarrasment at the ponies surrounding him. "I'm alright, thanks!" he said, while taking the mare's hoof and helping himself up. The other ponies asked him what he was supposed to be, to what he looked up, realizing they would hardly know anything about the costume or its origins. "Oh! Um... Well, actually, my costume is a clockwork train driver! Er, I got it from a book." he said, nodding, and dusting off the long scarf. He then looked at one of the other colts, who had called him another minion. "Huh? No, no! I fell by accident, that's all. I'm not... Interested in... Er." he began, not knowing how to say something without it being offensive in some way.
"Well, you get the idea!" he said, before turning to the mare who helped him up. He had never seen her around, but she seemed friendly and fun. "Um, thanks for that! My name is Shake. I run the local Coffee Parlor!" he introduced himself with a wide smile, and pushing the goggles up to his forehead. "About those crashing entrances... You'll never get enough here, actually! So you better start enjoying them!" he said, with a chuckle, looking at the mare.

Fenris scuffed at the ground and shook his head when Sunset mentioned crashing entrance and turned to look at him. It hadn't been on purpose, but if he would say that now it would seem more like he was just complaining, so he shrugged the thoughts off and concentrated on other things.
"Nice to meet you Diana, Shake." Fenris nodded to each pony in turn.
"I'm Fenris Firebrand, just call me Fenris." He smiled at the two though the facepaint he had on made it slightly unsettling.
He then rose to the air and started hovering above the group, causing a slight breeze with his powerful wingbeats. They way he moved his wings also made the eyes painted on the underside seem like they were slowly blinking and shifting around as if searching for something.
"So should we go look for something to do? I bet we could get quite a few ponies running with the six of us working together." Fenris had a mischievous grin on his face as he spoke.
"Afterall it's what Nightmare Night is for."

Twilight had been getting worn out between the walking, avoiding traps, and the two colts. She kind of wanted to use sleepiness as an excuse to leave, but in reality she actually was tired. Twilight had been so busy preparing the town for others she hadnt gotten much sleep herself. She let out a long yawn. Suddenly all at once her fatigue began to show. She managed her evil voice one last time. "Well, look at the time... Your dark mistress must be leaving. You ponies have a vile Nightmare Night!" She bowed her head at them all. Her horn lit up, and seconds later she was outside her house.
She went inside wearily taking out her fake fangs. She passed by Spike in his bed already snoozing away. Twilight thought it was kind of rude to leave so suddenly, but the thought was drown out by her own tiredness. She slid into her comfortingly familiar bed and closed her eyes. Tomorrow they would have to take it all down, and that would require even more work. She was quickly wisked away from the realm of consciousness. Her dreams were filled with a mismash of various costumes, candy, and two particular ponies who seemed to take up most of her thoughts these days.

Silver sat under the shade of a nearby tree and watched the night go on. He swore some kids just had no originality these days; seeing at least four foals wearing the same poorly made "I'm a ninja" costume would make any pony think that. But he supposed he couldn't blame them. They were; after all, just foals. They were too stupid to think of anything for themselves. With another sip of a coffee laying nearby he continued to watch from the safety of the shadow. For extra security he pulled a blanket over his coat, thankfully because of the colt weather he didn't notice the extra heat too much. It covered him up, that was all he really wanted from it
With a sigh he leaned back, looking up towards the sky through a hole that laid hidden in the middle of the leafy green mess overhead. The starts were out tonight, as they were on the first Nightmare Night. He closed his eyes and drowned himself in the happy memory. He remembered hiding behind his mouther cowardly as the kind ponies opened their doors for them, giving him cotton candy, cupcakes, chocolate, etc. He never ate it, he was too afraid of what would happen if he took candy from strangers. He went as a pumpkin. His mouther made him an at that young an age who knows what you want.
He opened his eyes and brought himself back to 'Now'. Taking another sip he continued to look at the crowd of foals. Just another day.

Zathra sighed after Twilight had left. She had left in such a hurry that nopony even got a chance to say goodbye to her. He was worried that he might have come on too strong, but he was positive about that now. He noticed that their group wasn't very together, so he figured that now may have been a go time to try and pull Fenris away to talk with him about Twilight.
Zathra gave Fenris a few pokes to get his attention. "Hey, Fenris? C-can i talk to you about something? Away from the others?" Zathra pointed to a secluded area off in the distance, where they could talk in private.

"A rather exotic costume, indeed. May I inquire the author of the book that gave you the inspiration?" She asked in a very polite tone. Fenris' speech about 'Mistress', on the other hoof, caused the mare to shake her head and cover it with her hoof. This was going so far over the top that she didn't even have the words to describe it. She was about to continue her exchange with Shake, but was stopped by Twilight, who said something about being tired and blinked away in a hurry. This, in turn, caused Zathra to ask for a private chat with Fenris. It seemed that their triangle of love was starting to unfold, and Twilight Sparkle herself wasn't at all eager to take part in it.
"Woe is me, then, if these violent entrées are not the exception, but a rule", she remarked, retaining her neutral, ironshod mask. The mare didn't really seem to have a sense of humor to speak of. "You own a coffee parlor? How fascinating. In which part of the town? I would be more than overjoyed to visit it sometimes, if you do not mind."

Shake nodded, smiling. "The author's name is Colt Di Fillypo. He's not precisely known, but sometimes those authors that stay away from the spotlight are the best authors. That's what I think, at least! In his work, Fillypo talked about the society in a parallel universe of sorts. They used all kinds of aero-vehicles, and steam-powered trains!" he said, excitedly, before realising his ramblings were probably getting boring already.
"Oh.. Yes, you're right." he responded when the mare spoke about the three other ponies. "It's so strange, and at the same time so typical, to see these things happening." The blue colt sighed and looked up, while the mare spoke about his café. "Ah, yes! I run the Chocotwist Palace Café. You can find it near the Town Square, right across the street from Sugarcube Corner. I'll be glad to have you!"
